Therapies for Inherited Neuropathies Announces New Addition to the Advisory Board

Mario Bortolozzi, Ph. D.

I am an associate Professor in Biophysics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy “G. Galilei” at the University of Padua in Italy. Following my studies in Physics at the same university, I earned my doctoral degree in Neurobiology at the School of Biosciences in 2008. From 2012 to 2013, I was a visiting scientist at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics at the University of Oxford in the UK. Subsequently, I established an independent research laboratory at the Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine (VIMM) in Padua. My research team, which combines expertise from physics, biology, and pharmacology, aims to answer significant biological questions related to neurodegeneration.

Currently, we are collaborating with TIN to investigate the molecular pathogenesis of the X-linked form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT1X) and develop novel approaches for in vitro drug screening.
